Will Google Rent Books Online?11/15/05 According to a recent report on TechTree.com, Google has approached a book publisher with the intent to analyze the possibilities of offering a book renting service on the Internet.
While details remain vague, the proposed fee for such a renting service is estimated at 10 percent of the cost of the book.
Google has taken an incredible amount of heat for their aggressiveness in preparing Google Print, a media library of books that have been digitized for review online. In mid-September, The Author`s Guild Inc. accused Google Inc. of "massive copyright infringement" after the Internet search engine put its books in the public domain for commercial use without permission.
